Baby Blanket from his Grandmother

My mother made a special blanket for our new baby. She made one when my first son was born; it was a blue one since we knew that it was going to be a boy. This time, we didn't know the sex of the baby, so I asked my mom to make something neutral --- maybe in beige tone.

Blanket from Grandmother

It is quite big --- there are 45 squares, and each measures 15cm by 15cm.

Here is the close up photo. She used mainly Filatura di Crosa's Zarina.

We usually use it in his crib. We also bring it in his bassinet when we go out.

Thank you very much, mom!

Gifts from Knitting Friends

I have received lots of gifts for my new son from knitting friends ---

Sometimes in summer (many many months ago...), I have received a lovely baby shower gift from my knitting friends.

Baby Shower Gift - Lion Organic Cotton

Three skeins of Lionbrand Organic Cotton, and organic cotton bib from Skoon. These skeins are so soft, and perfect for sensitive new born baby's skin.

I have spent a good amount of time figuring out what I can make out of these skeins, and I decided to work on Pinwheel Sweater, and here is the result:

ずいぶん長い間これを使って何を編むか悩んだあげく、Pinwheel Sweaterを編むことにしました。

Pinwheel Cardigan

Pattern: Pinwheel Sweater
Design by Shelly Mackie
Yarn: Three skeins of Lionbrand Organic Cotton (50 g /82 yd 100% Organic Cotton) --- One skein each of Bark, Cypress and Vanilla

Here is how it looks on my little one:
